Physical features of South America

During this lesson, the children recapped the different countries that can be found in South America as well as the different oceans and continents. Then, they studies some of the major physical features found in South America. They already knew about the Amazon Rainforest and the Amazon River as they studied this in year 3. Thus, they focussed on the Atacama Desert, Andes, Lake Titicaca and Cape Horn. 

Once the children had drawn a key and labelled their maps they carried out some research on a feature of their choice. Some interesting information was shared with the class.
