French: ordering food

 Year 6 started the lesson with a matching activity. They then watched a video about ordering food in a restaurant. The children then looked at a restaurant scenario which was a little bizarre. They then practised using it  with their partners to order food.

 Year 6 started their new topic about Our World. We learnt how to say the names of the continents and rivers.We labelled the continents on a map and created sentences about where some rivers are. We then wrote down the sentences on our map with help of an atlas.

Place Value - our first unit of learning in year 6 , and the children have shown a terrific understanding. Place value is the foundation of our mathematical  knowledge, and as we conclude negative numbers this week, we are looking forward to moving onto  calculating using the four operations .
