French: Pâques

  Year 6 found out about how the French celebrate Easter, looking at some customs that are the same and different. They found out about the Carnaval de Nice, which is held annually. This year the theme was Vive la Reine. 

The children then translated  Easter 🐣 vocabulary into French, using a dictionary, which they then found in a word search.

Place Value - our first unit of learning in year 6 , and the children have shown a terrific understanding. Place value is the foundation of our mathematical  knowledge, and as we conclude negative numbers this week, we are looking forward to moving onto  calculating using the four operations .
