French: Notre ecole

 Year 6 started their new topic - Our school. They revised numbers to 31 and learnt how to ask the time in French and then what to reply to the nearest hour. They then drew in the hands on clock faces.

They also found out some facts about France.

 Year 6 started their new topic about Our World. We learnt how to say the names of the continents and rivers.We labelled the continents on a map and created sentences about where some rivers are. We then wrote down the sentences on our map with help of an atlas.

Place Value - our first unit of learning in year 6 , and the children have shown a terrific understanding. Place value is the foundation of our mathematical  knowledge, and as we conclude negative numbers this week, we are looking forward to moving onto  calculating using the four operations .
